Title
APPROVAL OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION MASTER PLAN.
BACKGROUND: In development of the Master Plan, an extensive review was conducted in order to develop an understanding of the history, existing facilities, and services within the City’s Parks and Recreation Department. Thereafter, a community survey was conducted in Spring 2015. Community input to the Master Plan was also solicited through focus groups and public meetings. On November 10, 2015, Heller and Heller Consulting, Inc. presented, at a public workshop, the draft Margate Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Master Plan to the City Commission. Attached is the proposed final, Master Plan which incorporates additional input provided at the public workshop. The report includes an updated capital project listing in the Recommendation section.
RECOMMENDATION: For approval.
FISCAL IMPACT: To be determined based upon project implementation.
