Title
REQUESTING WAIVING OF BIDDING FOR THE SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE OF EIGHT(8) PORTABLE TRAFFIC ANALYZERS (PTA) FROM JACE CHANDLER & ASSOCIATES, INC. IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $13,500.00 FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.
BACKGROUND:
The Traffic Unit utilizes portable traffic analyzers to conduct traffic surveys and collect traffic data throughout the City in response to citizen requests of traffic problems or concerns. Currently two of the analyzers utilized by the Traffic Unit are completely inoperable. The remaining two analyzers have surpassed their expected life span of eight (8) years, and although currently operational, can no longer be repaired or upgraded as parts are no longer available. In order to ensure that traffic surveys are conducted in a timely and efficient manner staff recommends that a minimum of eight (8) PTAs be purchased.
The sole source distributor of various M.H. Corbin products for the State of Florida is Jace Chandler & Associates, Inc. (refer to attached sole source letter).
RECOMMENDATION: Approval
FISCAL IMPACT: FY Budget 2015 not to exceed $13,500.00
