Title

APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH FLORIDA LEAGUE OF CITIES, INC. FOR CONSULTING SERVICES TO REVIEW TELECOMMUNICATIONS VENDOR BILLINGS

Body

BACKGROUND:                                          In the City’s best interest to have an independent review of our current telecommunication plans/contracts, and based on the results of the review, to potentially tailor our communication agreements/plans to be more cost effective, the City wishes to contract with the Florida League of Cities, Inc. (FLC) for said review of telecommunication services. Payment for service to FLC is only required if FLC determines cost-saving strategies and the City determines it is in its best interest to accept said strategies.

RECOMMENDATION:                     Approve.

FISCAL IMPACT:                     After the review of the City’s telecommunications plans/contracts is complete, the City will assess and determine, where necessary, to implement cost-saving strategies. Of the cost-savings realized to the City, the City will pay FLC forty-five percent (45%) of any refund or credit it receives and accepts as a result of FLC’s actions for a period of twelve (12) months. After this point, any savings realized will be retained solely by the City.
