Title

AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE PARKING STANDARDS FOR BOLLARDS AND WHEELSTOPS.

Body

BACKGROUND:                                          The Zoning Code currently requires the use of wheel stops whenever a parking space directly abuts a sidewalk.  This ordinance will provide an exception to this rule under certain conditions, and also grant the flexibility to allow the use of bollards in lieu of wheel stops.                     The item was heard by the Development Review Committee on January 26, 2016 and by the Planning and Zoning Board on March 1, 2016; comments are reflected in the attached meeting minutes.

RECOMMENDATION:                     DRC recommended approval on 1/26/2016.  P&Z recommended approval with amendment on 3/1/2016. Authorization to Advertise approved at 4/6/16 Regular City Commission meeting. First Reading approved at 4/20/16 Regular City Commission meeting.
