RESOLUTION - APPROVING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT FOR EMERGENCY/NON GUARANTEED SUPPLEMENTAL SUPPORT BUILDING CODE SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED BY THE BROWARD COUNTY ENVIRONMENTAL LICENSING AND BUILDING PERMITTING DIVISION OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT.

BACKGROUND:                                          On May 18, 2011 (Resolution 11-903), the City Commission approved an agreement with Broward County for Emergency/Non Guaranteed Supplemental Support Building Code Services to be Performed by the Broward County Environmental Licensing and Building Permitting Division of the Environmental Protection and Growth Management Department. This agreement will expire as of September 30, 2016. This agenda item provides for the a new agreement with Broward County, for Emergency/Non Guaranteed Supplemental Support Building Code Services, through September 30, 2021.

 

RECOMMENDATION:                     For approval.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:                     The County shall provide Services, pursuant to the Agreement, at the following per hour rates:

$78.40 - Building Code Inspector

$89.30 - Plans Examiner

$90.20 - Chief Building Code Inspector

$99.80 - Building Official Services

Overtime, when pre-approved in writing by the City, shall be at one and one half (1½) times the normal hourly rate. 

 

                     The above rates shall be adjusted annually by the County by an amount not to exceed five percent (5%) to address increases or decreases in operating and labor costs. The County may also adjust the rates by amounts exceeding five percent (5%) in order to address natural disasters and other unforeseen events and circumstances.
