Title
SUPPORTING THE CITY COMMISSION’S EFFORTS TO ENFORCE ALL CODE PROVISIONS CONCERNING THE USE OF FIREWORKS IN THE CITY.
BACKGROUND: At the direction of the City Commission, given at the July 13, 2016 Commission meeting, the following resolution provides for the Commission’s support of enforcement of all City code provisions concerning the use of fireworks in the City. This resolution also provides for utilization of additional City’s resources, in order to implement the intent of this resolution, and the desire of the City Commission to do everything it can to protect its residents from the harmful effects of illegal fireworks use.
RECOMMENDATION: For approval.
FISCAL IMPACT: Additional overtime costs are anticipated. The actual costs will be determined based upon available staffing, vehicle, and operational needs of the Police and Fire Departments.
