Title

APPROVAL OF AN AMENDMENT TO A TEMPORARY USE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MARGATE/COCONUT CREEK KIWANIS CLUB AND THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY

Body

BACKGROUND:                     On August 23, 2016, the CRA Board approved a Temporary Use Agreement between the Margate Community Redevelopment Agency and the Coconut Creek/Margate Kiwanis Club for use of CRA-owned property for Christmas tree sales from November 25 to December 25, 2016. The property is the former bank site located at 911 N. State Road 7.

The applicant has requested to extend the dates to begin set-up on November 11, 2016. The request is made due to time requirements for tent set-up and electrical installation. The sale of trees will begin on November 18th though December 24th. Breakdown will begin on December 25th and will conclude on December 28th.

It is noted that the City’s Code of Ordinances only permits 3 days for set up, therefore the request has to be modified so that set up begins on November 15th.

This request will add fourteen additional days for a total of 44 days.  The applicant has to go through the City’s Development Review Committee process for approval.

RECOMMENDATION:                     Approve an Amendment to the Temporary Use Agreement with the Coconut Creek/Margate Kiwanis Club, changing the dates to November 15, 2016- December 28, 2016

FISCAL IMPACT:                     On August 23, 2016 the CRA Board reduced the fee from $2,500 to $500 for use of the property.
