FOR RFP NO. 2016-006 CITY-WIDE LAWN MAINTENANCE SERVICES - AREAS "C" AND "D" (PRIMARY), AS AWARDED UNDER RESOLUTION NO. 16-224; APPROVING AMENDMENT OF THE AGREEMENT WITH THE SECOND RANKED FIRM, LANDSCAPE SERVICE PROFESSIONALS, INC., AS AWARDED UNDER RESOLUTION NO. 16-224 TO INCLUDE AREAS "C" AND "D" (PRIMARY); PROVIDING FOR TWO ADDITIONAL AREAS OF SERVICE; PROVIDING FOR ADJUSTED COMPENSATION; PROVIDING FOR ALL OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS TO REMAIN UNCHANGED.

BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to RFP No. 2016-006, City-wide Lawn Maintenance Services, the City contracted with two different lawn maintenance firms to provide lawn maintenance services City-wide. The Landscape Company, Inc. was awarded two of the four areas, but failed to commence work after repeated requests to do so. Notice has been served to The Landscape Company, Inc. that they are in breach of the Agreement and that the City intends to pursue remedies, including termination of the Agreement.
The City has been temporarily utilizing the second highest ranked firm, Landscape Service Professionals, Inc., to service the areas previously awarded to The Landscape Company, Inc. This firm has been performing well while servicing Area "C", and when being utilized as a secondary vendor for Area "D". Staff wishes to amend the Contract with Landscape Service Professionals to award the firm Area "C" and to make the firm the primary and sole awardee for Area "D" as well.
Additionally, Landscape Service Professionals has agreed to add two areas of service that were omitted from the original RFP document. Those areas are Townhouse Easement - SW 64th Ave / SW 7th Street ($95.00 per cut), and Open Space 75 ($285.00 per cut).
