Title

APPROVAL OF AN ORDINANCE TO REVISE THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, APPENDIX B, AMENDING ELEMENT I FUTURE LAND USE IN ORDER TO PERMIT HABITABLE STRUCTURES WITHIN RECREATIONAL VEHICLE RESORT PARKS.

Body

BACKGROUND: Under Appendix B, Element I Future Land Use, the current definition for Recreational Vehicle Park prohibits any tent or building utilized for sleeping, camping or group camping. This amendment would delete that prohibition and permit habitable structures within recreational vehicle resort parks.

The petitioner, Aztec RV Resort, requested consideration of an ordinance amending Article XVIII-RVRP Districts to allow RV lot structures that were permanent and habitable at the Development Review Committee (DRC) meeting on March 22, 2016.  This request has been resubmitted and will be heard as a separate item (DRC 09-16-01) at this meeting. A copy of the minutes from the March 22, 2016 DRC meeting is attached.

RECOMMENDATION:  The Development Review Committee (DRC) recommended approval. A draft copy of the meeting minutes is attached. The Planning and Zoning (P & Z) Board voted to approve with a 3-1 vote at the P & Z meeting on October 4, 2016. A draft copy of the meeting minutes is attached.
