Title

AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF OAKLAND PARK AND C.A.P. GOVERNMENT, INC. FOR BUILDING INSPECTION AND PLAN REVIEW SERVICES, ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS; AUTHORIZING THE WAIVER OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Body

BACKGROUND:                     The City of Oakland Park went out to bid for personnel to perform building inspection and plan review services on an as needed basis. In an effort to provide additional support resources for the Building Department, the City wishes to use (and piggyback) the contract between the City of Oakland Park and C.A.P. Government, Inc. who currently provides this service to several cities in the region. This would be in addition to the current Interlocal Agreement with Broward County for supplemental plan review and inspection services. Staff is also requesting approval to enter into a similar agreement with Calvin, Giordano, & Associates, Inc. for supplemental plan review and inspection services. With these agreements in place, the Building Department will be able to call upon one of these entities when available support is needed.

RECOMMENDATION:                     For approval.

FISCAL IMPACT:                                          The attached Agreement provides for hourly rates and fees based on the type of service rendered.
