DRC NO. 01-17-03 CONSIDERATION OF AN OUTDOOR EVENT FOR THE MARGATE WATERFRONT FOUNDATION ON JANUARY 26-FEBRUARY 5, 2017
LOCATION: 1000 STATE ROAD 7
ZONING: TRANSIT-ORIENTED CORRIDOR-CITY CENTER (TOC-CC)
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: PARCEL “A” OF THE MARGATE 3RD ADDITION, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF, AS RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 44, PAGE 48, OF THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA.
PETITIONER: MITCHELL PELLECCIA, THE MARGATE WATERFRONT FOUNDATION
BACKGROUND: Petitioner requests consideration to hold a carnival at 1000 North State Road 7 as a fundraiser for The Margate Waterfront Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. The carnival would operate from January 26 through February 5, 2017 (11 days) with three days for set-up (January 23-25) and three days for break down (February 6-8), a total of 17 days on the property. The event would include amusement rides and food and game concessions.
The property owner, the Margate Community Redevelopment Agency (MCRA), approved a Temporary Use Agreement at the MCRA meeting on December 13, 2016. The petitioner initially submitted an Application for a CRA Special Event in March, 2016 but later amended the dates to those above to avoid a date conflict with the St. Vincent carnival.
