RESOLUTION - AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATION TO NEGOTIATE WITH THE NUMBER ONE RANKED ARCHITECTURAL FIRM SALTZ MICHELSON ARCHITECTS, INC. FOR REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) 2017-001 FIRE STATION NO. 58.

BACKGROUND:                                          

The administration prepared a design criteria package and advertised for RFQ 2017-001 - Fire Station No. 58 Design Services.  A total of thirty-two (32) firms requested and received the solicitation.  Seven responses were received.  A Selection and Evaluation Committee reviewed the submittals and shortlisted the firms down to four firms who were ranked as follows:

Based on the above, the administration requests authorization to negotiate with Saltz Michelson Architects, Inc.                     as the top ranked firm. 

 

Upon conclusion of the negotiations, the administration will present the negotiated agreement to the City Commission for further action, up to and including award of the agreement.

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:  Authorization to Negotiate.                     

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:                       

Fiscal Year 2017 budget for the design portion of this project is $300,000.00. The actual hourly rates for various categories of services needed for the design will be determined as part of the negotiations with the firm.
