BACKGROUND: At the December 2016 meeting, CPZ Architects, Inc. presented a conceptual design of improvements to the George Mudd playground and David Park including new playground equipment, poured floor service, additional parking, covered pavilion area and outdoor restroom facilities. At that meeting, the Board directed staff to move forward with all enhancements as proposed in the presentation.

At the January meeting, the Board approved piggybacking an existing Clay County contract hiring REP Services, Inc. to do the improvements to the George Mudd playground providing materials and labor for the poured floor surface and new playground equipment, in order for the area to be operational by the City's summer camp program in June. It was explained at that meeting, the other improvements referred to as Phase II for David Park would require final design work and a site plan for the addition of the new facilities, and would have to be bid for construction.

CPZ Architects, Inc. submitted a task order to provide the necessary architectural, civil and landscape design, bidding assistance and construction oversight services for the David Park improvements including creating the necessary documents for Design Review Committee (DRC) submittal and bid issuance. The total cost for services inclusive of a 10% contingency fee is $71,511.
