Title
A RESOLUTION OF THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (MCRA), AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN LANDSCAPE SERVICE PROFESSIONALS, INC. AND THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR MAINTENANCE OF LANDSCAPE AND IRRIGATION SERVICES FOR COCONUT CREEK PARKWAY AND MELALEUCA DRIVE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
Body

BACKGROUND: The MCRA is contracted with Landscape Service Professionals, Inc. (LSP), to provide ongoing landscape and irrigation maintenance of the median areas on State Road 7 and Atlantic Boulevard east of 441. The Agreement was approved on October 15, 2015, was for a one (1) year term with option to renew for two (2) additional years. This option was exercised and the current contract term has been extended until October 15, 2017.

When the Request For Proposal (RFP) was issued in 2015, Coconut Creek Parkway medians and the swale improvements for Melaleuca were not incorporated as part of the original RFP as neither was under construction at the time. LSP currently maintains Coconut Creek Parkway median as an additional service item paid from the 10% contingency budgeted under the current contract.

Since Melaleuca improvements are currently underway, staff is requesting to amend LSP's contract to include monthly landscape and irrigation services for both the Coconut Creek Parkway medians and Melaleuca swale areas. This amendment to the contract will allow the 10% contingency funding to be utilized for additional services as needed for repair and/or replacement work and will free up funds currently being charged against the contingency budget for the ongoing monthly maintenance of Coconut Creek Parkway.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve the amendment to the Agreement with Landscape Service Professionals, Inc., to include services for Coconut Creek Parkway medians and Melaleuca swale areas in an amount not to exceed $23,0...
