Title
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF $17,668.30 FOR SECURITY ENHANCEMENTS AT 6280 W. ATLANTIC BOULEVARD
BACKGROUND: Many governmental agencies are enhancing security at key locations in public buildings. This proposal is to install security measures in the reception area of the new building to be occupied by the CRA and the City Economic Development Department.
The proposed work will be done by Shiff Construction & Development, Inc. through an existing National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) contract, which is the same contract and contractor utilized for work done on other city offices. The work will be coordinated and supported by the Public Works Department. The Purchasing Department has reviewed the proposed work order and confirmed compliance with NJPA contract pricing. Note that this contract expires on March 19, 2017; therefore any work under this contract must be authorized, and a purchase order issued, prior to that date.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the expenditure and authorize the Executive Director to execute the work order and other applicable documents necessary to proceed with the work.
FISCAL IMPACT: $17,668.30, which is within the FY 2017 capital improvements budget for the CRA office building.
