RESOLUTION - AWARD OF BID NO. 2017-008 FURNISH AND DELIVER SODIUM HYDROXIDE 50% BY WEIGHT AT A COST OF $1.69/GALLON FOR TRUCKLOAD DELIVERY AND $2.03/GALLON FOR LESS THAN TRUCKLOAD DELIVERY; WITH THE CITY OF MARGATE ACTING AS LEAD AGENCY FOR THE SOUTHEAST FLORIDA GOVERNMENTAL PURCHASING COOPERATIVE GROUP.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Margate, acting as lead agency for the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group, issued a bid for furnishing and delivering Sodium Hydroxide 50% by weight. The bid allowed for per gallon price submission in truckload and less than truckload order quantities. A total of five (5) bid packages were sent out and one (1) company responded prior to the bid submission deadline. Allied Universal Corporation submitted the sole bid for both pricing categories with truckload order quantity pricing at $1.69/gallon and less than truckload order quantity pricing at $2.03/gallon. A second submission was received after the bid submission deadline and was subsequently returned to the submitter unopened. Staff has reviewed the bid received and recommends awarding to Allied Universal Corporation.
RECOMMENDATION: Award Bid No. 2017-008 to Allied Universal Corporation
