BACKGROUND:                                          

                          The purpose of the Broward Victim’s Rights Coalition is to provide limited financial assistance to crime

                          victims and/or their families when no other funds are available.  The Coalition is the only type of urgent

                           funding available to all victims of Broward County and is a fund that is often utilized for Margate victims.

                          

                           The Coalition strives to enhance public awareness of victim needs, services and rights; encourages the

                           participation of citizens in victim service programs, conducts victim related workshops for the purpose

                           of training; and advocates on behalf of crime victims.  In addition, the Coalition continually assists law enforcement in providing in-house training.
