PROVIDING FOR A SIX MONTH EXTENSION OF THE EXISTING SIX MONTH MORATORIUM ON THE APPROVAL OF ANY NEW SELF STORAGE OR SIMILAR TYPE USES WITHIN THE CITY OF MARGATE; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND: On November 16, 2016 the City Commission approved a six month moratorium via Ordinance 2016-15 for the approval of any new self-storage or similar type uses within the City of Margate. The proposed ordinance is to provide additional time for the City to consider potential changes to its Code of Ordinances pertaining to the impact of self-storage uses within the City of Margate.
This item passed on First Reading at the May 3, 2017, Regular City Commission meeting.
