Title

APPROVING A MASTER SERVICE AGREEMENT PIGGYBACK ADDENDUM WITH PST SERVICES, LLC FOR THE PROVISION OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL TRANSPORT BILLING AND COLLECTION SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR TRANSITION OF SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Body

BACKGROUND:                                          On August 24, 2011, the City Commission approved (Resolution 11-946) an agreement with Advanced Data Processing d/b/a/ Intermedix, to provide for emergency medical transport billing and collection services. There have been two amendments to this agreement in 2014 and 2016. The most recent amendment included a 5% net collection fee (less refunds) and a 2.33% net collection fee for the use of thirteen Intermedix (includes 2 spare units) provided field data capturing and reporting system units.  It also included an $11.00 flat fee for each Medicaid related collection.

The proposed piggyback agreement with PST Services, LLC has a 4.5% of net collection fee and a $7.50 flat fee for each Medicaid related collection.

RECOMMENDATION:                     For approval.

FISCAL IMPACT:                     This will provide for a reduced service fee; however, the precise net collection fee cannot be determined as it is based upon calls for service and gross collection rates.
