RESOLUTION - RELATING TO THE PROVISION OF FIRE RESCUE SERVICES, FACILITIES AND PROGRAMS IN THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA; REIMPOSING FIRE RESCUE ASSESSMENTS AGAINST ASSESSED PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF MARGATE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2017; APPROVING THE RATE OF ASSESSMENT; APPROVING THE ASSESSMENT ROLL; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BACKGROUND:                     This rate resolution directs the reimposition of Fire Rescue Assessments for the Fiscal Year beginning October 1, 2017 and approves the rate of assessment.

                     

RECOMMENDATION:                     For approval.

 

FISCAL IMPACT: Estimated revenues listed do not include discounts taxpayers receive for early payment of tax bill.  Therefore revenues would be budgeted at approximately 95% of the amount listed in the attachment.

                     

The initial estimate for the construction of Fire Station 58 in Fiscal Year 18 is $4.2 million.  A contract for the design is currently in place and final budget will be determined based upon chosen design elements and materials.                     

 

For the Fiscal Year beginning October 1, 2017, the total estimated Fire Rescue Assessed Cost to be assessed is $10,327,401.
