Title
AMENDING THE SPECIAL EVENTS FUNDING/DONATION REQUEST PROGRAM FOR ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS.
BACKGROUND: On February 4, 2015 and June 3, 2015, the City Commission held two workshops to discuss City donations. The City Commission directed staff to develop a program available to both organizations and individuals. The amount requested cannot exceed $1,000 per organization or individual. Interested parties can fill out an application which will then be presented to the City Commission for consideration at the next regularly-scheduled City Commission meeting. At the June 7, 2017 City Commission meeting, the City Commission directed staff to make two amendments to the current program:
• Requirement for organizations and individuals to execute an affidavit indicating their intent with the funding within two weeks of the event/expenditure.
• Requesting individual recipients to provide/present photographs/details following the events/expenditure at a public meeting.
RECOMMENDATION: For approval.
