A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA, PRESENTED TO THE FLORIDA LEAGUE OF CITIES SUPPORTING THE ETHICAL AND RESPONSIBLE USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA BY ELECTED OFFICIALS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BACKGROUND: Social media has transformed over the last several years. It provides a degree of openness and transparency that provides excellent opportunities for local governments to build trust and a positive public perception of its work and services. This proposed resolution supports the ethical and responsible use of social media by elected officials while effecting meaningful dialogue and connecting constituents to City services.
RECOMMENDATION: For approval.
