Title
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT FOR AMENDMENT TO NONVEHICULAR ACCESS LINES AND AN AGREEMENT FOR AMENDMENT OF NOTATION ON PLAT, BOTH AGREEMENTS BETWEEN BROWARD COUNTY AND THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR MODIFICATIONS TO THE HAIG & DUKE PLAT RELATED TO THE COVERED SPORTS FIELD PROJECT.

BACKGROUND: The construction plans for the covered sports field at the Margate Sports Complex are substantially complete, with final permitting and bidding to commence in the near future. As part of the permitting process, modifications were needed to the underlying zoning and the existing plat. The change of zoning from M-1A Industrial Park District to S-1 Recreation District has been accomplished. Approval of the plat modifications is on the Broward County Commission agenda for September 14th.
The proposed modifications to the plat are:
* Changes the use from Industrial to City Park/Recreation
* Re-establishes concurrency which had expired under the old plat
* Eliminates the direct access from Banks Road to the property (ingress and egress for the covered sports field will instead be via the existing Sports Complex entry road).
The proposed plat amendments were reviewed by DRC on 2/28/17 and the Planning & Zoning Board on 4/4/2017 and approved by the City of Margate Commission on 5/3/17 through Resolution 17-069.
The County Commission approval of the plat amendments is conditioned on the CRA entering into two formal agreements with the Broward County which document the aforementioned modifications:
* Amendment to Nonvehicular Access Lines
* Agreement for Amendment of Notation on Plat
