Title
APPROVAL OF AN ORDINANCE TO ADD DRIVE-THRU FACILITIES AS A SPECIAL EXCEPTION USE IN THE B-1 ZONING DISTRICT.
BACKGROUND: The owners of the Royal Palm Plaza shopping center located at 7300-7328 Royal Palm Boulevard propose a text amendment to the Margate Zoning Code to add “drive-through facilities” into the B-1 Neighborhood Business District. Drive-through facilities are not currently permitted in the B-1 zoning district.
RECOMMENDATION: This item was approved by the Development Review Committee on July 11, 2017. A draft copy of the meeting minutes is attached. The Planning and Zoning Board recommended approval on August 7, 2017. The City Commission approved the first reading of this ordinance at the September 6, 2017 meeting.
