Title
CONSIDERATION OF AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE S-1 RECREATIONAL ZONING DISTRICT.
BACKGROUND: This ordinance expands an existing use in the S-1 Recreational district; “municipal parks and playgrounds” to “municipal structures intended to provide for the health, safety, and welfare of the community.” The ordinance provides setback exceptions for municipal structures, and offers a height limitation of 65 feet for municipal structures. This ordinance deletes Section 3.19 Setback from major roadways. The City Commission approved first reading of this ordinance on October 18, 2017.
RECOMMENDATION: The Development Review Committee (DRC) approved this item at the DRC meeting held on September 26, 2017. An excerpt from the draft meeting minutes is attached. The Planning and Zoning Board approved this ordinance 5-0 at the Planning and Zoning Board meeting held on October 4, 2017. An excerpt from the draft meeting minutes is also attached.
