Title

DISCUSSION ON THE COMMERCIAL FAÇADE GRANT REIMBURSEMENT FOR 4701 COCONUT CREEK PARKWAY LLC.

Body

BACKGROUND: The Commercial Facade Grant Program was created to encourage property owners and tenants to enhance and update the exterior of commercial properties as a way to improve the overall appearance of the CRA District.  Some of the eligible improvements under the program include but are not limited to design fees, construction cost, painting, signage, windows and light fixtures.

In November 2015, the Board approved a Commercial Façade grant for 4701 Coconut Creek Parkway LLC (d.b.a. Lester’s Diner) for an amount not to exceed $50,000. The application included cost associated with painting, minor roof repair, signage, accent features and lighting.

The applicant has submitted for reimbursement which has been reviewed by the CRA and the Finance Department.  A portion of the reimbursement submittal included additional improvements which were not part of the original application and the grantee is requesting consideration by the Board for the work which included installation of exterior entranceway tile work, doors and gutters totaling $16,446 (50% reimbursement would be $8,223). If approved, the total grant reimbursement would be an amount not to exceed $46,083.

RECOMMENDATION:  Provide direction on the Commercial Façade reimbursement for 4701 Coconut Creek Parkway LLC (d.b.a. Lester’s Diner) in the amount of $8,223 for the additional work.

FISCAL IMPACT:  Funding has been allocated in 140-0510-512.83-35 in the amount of $50,000.
