APPROVAL OF TEMPORARY USE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND THE MARGATE WATERFRONT FOUNDATION
BACKGROUND: The Margate Waterfront Foundation has submitted an application to use CRA-owned property located at 1000 North State Road 7 to host the Margate Waterfront Days Carnival, from December 19, 2017 through January 3, 2018. The dates of operation are December 22, 2017 through December 31, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The fair will feature amusement park rides, kiddie rides, games and food demonstrations.
The Margate Waterfront Foundation held a carnival January 26 - February 3, 2017. The CRA Event Policy states, “Rent of CRA property for special events shall be restricted to twice a year by a sponsoring organization.” Approval of this item would require a waiver of the CRA Event Policy.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval
FISCAL IMPACT: $5,000 in fees, unless waived or reduced by the Board. The user will be responsible for utility costs.
