Title

RESOLUTION - APPROVING THE MULTIPLE AWARD OF BID NO. 2018-001, AGGREGATES, TOP SOILS AND SAND; CITY OF MARGATE LEAD AGENCY FOR THE SOUTHEAST FLORIDA GOVERNMENTAL PURCHASING COOPERATIVE GROUP.

Body

BACKGROUND:

The City of Margate (acting as lead agency for the Southeast Florida Governmental Cooperative Purchasing Group), advertised for bids to supply aggregates, top soils and sand to the City of Margate and the participating members of the Cooperative.  Five bids packages were distributed to interested parties.  Two firms responded by submitting bids.  As in times past, staff recommends awarding the bid items to primary and secondary vendors.  The attached spreadsheet is based on staff’s recommendation that the vendor with the lowest bid price for each item be awarded as the primary vendor and the vendor with the next lowest bid price be awarded as the secondary vendor.

Staff recommends an initial three (3) year term award, with an option to renew for an additional two (2) one (1) year terms; providing the parties agree, and providing all terms and conditions remain the same.

RECOMMENDATION:  APPROVE

FISCAL IMPACT:                       Purchases have historically averaged $50,000 annually.  Funds for these expenditures are budgeted in multiple departmental accounts.
