RESOLUTION - APPROVING WAIVING OF BIDDING FOR THE SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE OF A VIGILANT INTELLIGENCE LED POLICING PACKAGE WITH MOBILE LICENSE PLATE READER (LPR), CAMERA SYSTEMS AND TRAILERS, AND ALL RELATED HARDWARE, SOFTWARE, INSTALLATION, DELIVERY, AND END USER TRAINING FROM VETTED SECURITY SOLUTIONS IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $195,705.00; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND:
With the acquisition of these License Plate Reader (LPR) Vehicle Kits and LPR trailers, we will significantly increase data for our current use of Vigilant Solution LEARN “All Access” software. Staff has researched several LPR systems on the market and has selected this hardware due to its new technology which will improve the department’s investigative ability. A contingency amount was built into the cost of the proposal total for unforeseen postage, routing, and etcetera.
The City is growing and new development is scheduled; utilizing the LPR system similar to cities like Coral Springs and Coconut Creek will enhance our crime solving abilities within the city.
This is a sole source vendor per the attached correspondence.
