APPROVING THE AWARD OF BID NO. 2018-007, MARGATE SPORTS COMPLEX RENOVATIONS TO PE SERVICES, LLC, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $430,000; PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL OF BID ITEMS NO. 15 AND 16 WHICH WILL BE PERFORMED IN-HOUSE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Body

BACKGROUND:                     The Margate Sports Complex Renovation Project is part of the Margate Parks and Recreation Master Plan, and is in our current Capital Projects Program. This project will include the following: New installation of batting cages with hitting stations, demolition of existing dugouts, construction of larger dugouts with lockable storage rooms for each field, renovation of some drainage areas, relocation of an existing water main, new concrete slabs, and site work as needed.

Staff determined that Bid Items 15 and 16 will be performed in-house by City personnel.  Therefore, the costs associated with those items have been removed from the bid total as shown on the comparative bid tally sheet.

The fiscal impact total includes the bid total which has been rounded up to $430,000 to account for engineering permits and other potential incidentals.
