SELECTION OF CHARITY FOR A DONATION OF $1,000 BY WAWA AT THEIR GRAND OPENING EVENT.
BACKGROUND: As part of Wawa’s tentative February 1, 2018, Grand Opening festivities, the City Commission have been invited to attend and participate in the Hoagies for Heroes hoagie building contest scheduled at 10:00 a.m.
Wawa has requested to have five representatives from each representing party to participate in a hoagie-building drill to benefit a local charitable organization of your choice. Wawa will donate $1,000 to each team’s charity of choice, but only the winners will take the trophy home. Here is a sample agenda for the day:
9:30 a.m. - Hoagie Building Boot Camp - teams arrive and learn to build hoagies the Wawa way.
10:00 a.m. - Grand Opening ceremony, remarks by local officials & ribbon cutting.
10:40 a.m. - Hoagie Building contest. The team who builds the most hoagies in 3 minutes wins.
10:45 a.m. - Checks presented to both teams and photographs taken.
The charity selected should be a registered 501c3 organization.
RECOMMENDATION: To select a charity to receive the donation of $1000
