Title
RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN ATLANTIC STUDIOS, INC., AND THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
BACKGROUND: Atlantic Studios has provided marketing support to the MCRA for several years; most notably, they developed and managed all aspects of the “Margate Under the Moon” event series. This popular event series started in 2015 and featured live music, food trucks, artists and vendors, Margate businesses, and other activities.
In addition to “Margate Under the Moon”, Atlantic Studios has proposed a new, twice monthly event that would be held on the second and fourth Sunday each month - Groove+Green - beginning May 13, 2018. This year round event would feature a farmers’ market, live music, brunch offerings, a pop-up marketplace, and other entertainment options (on select Sundays). Also, there would be a flea market style pavilion where Margate residents could sell used goods.
Details on the “Groove+Green” event series are outlined in the attached Scope of Services.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval
FISCAL IMPACT: $40,000 for ten events in the current fiscal year to be charged to Operating Expense-Green Market #140-0510-512.30-75. A budget transfer of $40,000 will be made from Marketing & Promotions #140-0510-512.31-05 upon approval of the Agreement.
