APPROVING AN AGREEMENT FOR PURCHASE AND SALE OF REAL PROPERTY WITH SUNSHINE SEWING COMPANY, INC. FOR THE PURCHASE OF 1815, 1817, 1819, 1821, 1823 AND 1845 BANKS ROAD, MARGATE, FLORIDA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $840,000.00, FOR USE BY THE FIRE-RESCUE DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING FOR EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND: At the January 24, 2018 Commission Meeting, the Commission approved a Motion to “…direct staff to pursue a one story Fire Station and send it out for a Design Build and direct the City Manager to purchase the office space properties as proposed.” An amendment to the Motion was approved “…to include a two story Design Build added to the previous Motion.” This resolution is to approve the purchase of the office space for the Fire-Rescue Department as discussed at the January 24, 2018 Commission meeting. At the June 6, 2018 Commission Meeting, this item was tabled until June 20, 2018, in order for staff to provide the Commission with the relevant plan and pricing information for the proposed new fire station.
RECOMMENDATION: For approval.
FISCAL IMPACT: $840,000.00 - budgeted general capital projects fund monies
