BACKGROUND:                     

                     

The Florida Department of Transportation, through a grant with the University of North Florida, utilizes law enforcement support to educate and enforce safe pedestrian, bicyclist, and driver behaviors in priority jurisdictions. The main objective of this funding is to reduce traffic crashes resulting in serious and fatal injuries to pedestrians and bicyclists through the use of selected traffic education and enforcement operations. All services for this grant funding must be completed by May 17, 2019 with law enforcement operations conducted in the identified areas within the City of Margate. The amount offered in this grant to the City of Margate, $11,000.00, will be used for reimbursement of costs associated with law enforcement personnel conducting these high visibility enforcement operations
