AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATION TO NEGOTIATE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE HIGHEST RANKED FIRM, MBR CONSTRUCTION, INC., FOR REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) 2018-020 - DESIGN/BUILD - CITY OF MARGATE DOG PARK PROJECT; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THAT THE ADMINISTRATION, IN THE EVENT OF IMPASSE, IS AUTHORIZED TO TERMINATE NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE HIGHEST RANKED FIRM AND COMMENCE NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE NEXT AND SUCCESSIVE HIGHEST RANKED FIRM UNTIL A SUCCESSFUL AGREEMENT IS REACHED; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BACKGROUND:  The City advertised Request for Qualifications (RFQ) No. 2018-020 and distributed qualifications packets to thirty-three parties.  Three firms submitted qualifications for consideration.  A  Selection and Evaluation Committee (SEC) was formed to review the responses submitted and rank the firms.  The results of the SEC’s final ranking of the firms are shown below.

The SEC recommends that the City Commission authorize negotiations for a design/build agreement with the highest ranked firm for the design/build dog park project.  If approved for negotiations, the administration will present a negotiated design concept and pricing to the City Commission for further action, up to and including award of an agreement.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  Authorized Negotiation                     

 

FISCAL IMPACT:                       None at this time.  Future fiscal impact is contingent upon the results of negotiations.
