Title
A RESOLUTION OF THE MARGATE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY AUTHORIZING THE APPROVAL OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE TASK ORDER FOR KIMLEY HORN AND ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE COPANS ROAD MEDIAN IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
BACKGROUND: A prior Amendment to the Task Order for Kimley Horn and Associates, Inc. for professional consulting services during construction was approved by the Board in April, 2016. The permitting of this project through Broward County required several months, and the project was initially put out to bid in April/May, 2017. Only one bid was received at that time, with that bid rejected and the project rebid in July 2017. Further permitting (MOT) and construction delays ensued after the bid award, with physical construction finally commencing on July 2, 2018. Due to the duplicative bidding process, greater than anticipated pre-construction and permitting services, and increased coordination required by the construction delays, the majority of the prior Task Order amount of $6,250 has been expended prior to completion of the project. This proposed Amendment to the Task Order, in the estimated amount of $6.500, includes completion of the services during construction, including site visits, review of pay applications, shop drawings and change orders, final certifications and project closeout, and provision of detailed record drawings.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Amendment to the Task Order for Kimley Horn and Associates, Inc., for professional consulting services during construction of the Copans Road Median Improvement project.
FISCAL IMPACT: Not to exceed $6,500.00. A budget transfer to account 340-0510-512-68.26 has been made to accommodate this Amendment to Task Order.
