DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION:  APPROVING A TEMPORARY USE AGREEMENT WITH THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY TO HOLD A “BARK FOR LIFE” FESTIVAL ON DECEMBER 1, 2018 PRIOR TO THE MARGATE UNDER THE MOON EVENT

BACKGROUND:                     Teresa DeCristofaro, Event Lead for the Relay for Life, is requesting to hold a festival and walk festival for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society.  The event would run from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and would be a prelude to the Margate Under the Moon event that is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. (subject to FY 18-19 budget approval).

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:                     For discussion

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:  The request includes waiver of the event fee of $1,000 as well as waiver of stage, generator, and staff fees; water meter fees, and the use of barriers along State Road 7 and Margate Blvd.
