APPROVING A DONATION OF $4,800.00 TO “BROWARD PARTNERSHIP”, PROVIDING FOR FUNDING FROM THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND.

BACKGROUND:                                          

In accordance with the Florida Contraband Act, the Margate Police Department is required to expend or donate no less than twenty-five percent (25%) of the fiscal years total collection of state forfeiture funds to a charitable organization within the guidelines of Florida State Statute 932.7055.

 

Broward Partnership is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing homelessness through advocacy, housing, and comprehensive services.  They operate a 230 bed homeless housing facility in Broward County.  Their intervention helps prevent homeless from either committing crimes or being victims of crime by providing a program to assist them to break the cycle of homelessness and integrate them back into society.
