APPROVING A DONATION OF $1,000.00 TO “THE MARGATE POLICE EXPLORER PROGRAM POST #97”; PROVIDING FOR FUNDING FROM THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND.

BACKGROUND:                                          

In accordance with the Florida Contraband Act, the Margate Police Department is required to

expend or donate no less than twenty-five percent (25%) of the fiscal years total collection of

state forfeiture funds to a charitable organization within the guidelines of Florida State Statute

932.7055.

 

The Margate Police Explorer Program provides community involvement of our youth and career

Training in potential law enforcement.  Funds would also go toward training classes, uniforms,

equipment, fees, etc.
