Title
RESOLUTION - AWARDING BID NO. 2018-021 - MUNICIPAL COMPLEX ELEVATORS REHABILITATION TO ORACLE ELEVATOR COMPANY, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $220,902.00; PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL WORK OUTSIDE OF THE GENERAL WORK SPECIFIED, IF ANY, TO BE PERFORMED AT $250 PER MECHANIC HOUR AND $100 PER HELPER HOUR; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND:
The City advertised for bids and received three responses to Bid No. 2018-021 - Municipal Complex Elevators. The bids were carefully reviewed by the consultant hired to oversee the project; the consultant’s recommendation is to award the base bid and all bid alternates to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Oracle Elevator Company. The Public Works Department concurs with the recommendation.
Costs for this project shall be as follows:
Base Price (retaining existing hydraulic cylinder) $126,700.00
Alternate No. 1 - Hydraulic Cylinder Replacement $ 20,025.00
Alternate No. 2 - Car Interiors $ 15,352.00
Alternate No. 3 - Work By Others $ 48,125.00
Allowance (contingency) $ 10,000.00
Permits $ 600.00
Indemnification $ 100.00
TOTAL COST OF BID $220,902.00

Labor Rate per Mechanic Hour $ 250.00/hr.
