BACKGROUND:                                          

 

To enhance the police department fleet for the health, safety and welfare of officers and ultimately the public.

 

The Chief of Police certifies that the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $131,000.00 in the Law Enforcement Trust Fund to acquire (1) marked Crime Scene Van and (4) unmarked fully equipped vehicles with ancillary equipment; complies with Section 932.7055, Florida Statutes.  These funds are not being used as a normal source of revenue for the Police Department; and that the funds were not considered in the adoption and approval of the Police Department budget.
