Title
APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH M&M LAWN CARE LLC FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE SERVICES OF BUS SHELTERS.

Body

BACKGROUND:

The MCRA's agreement for bus shelter maintenance with Roof Painting by Hartzell will expire on
March 9, 2019. Advanced Asset Management, Inc., on behalf of the MCRA, requested quotes for routine maintenance services of fifteen (15) bus shelters. The scope of services for the fifteen (15) shelters included general cleaning in and around the shelters, trash removal including replacement liners and disposal three (3) times per week, monthly waste container cleaning, reporting weekly the conditions of the shelters and quarterly pressure washing.

It is important to note that 14 shelters are located within the MCRA and one shelter is located outside of the MCRA boundaries. The MCRA will be responsible for the cost of maintaining only the shelters inside the boundary. The Department of Public Works will be responsible for covering the cost for routine maintenance of the shelter located outside the MCRA boundary, specifically on the south side of sample road west of Banks Road. Map indicating the locations of the bus shelters is provided as background to this item.

Below are the companies that submitted proposals for this service and the offered annual cost:

* M&M Lawn Care LLC: $32,400
* Roof Painting by Hartzell, Inc.: $33,390
* Gold Coast Transit, Inc. $56,640
* Marsden South: Non-responsive
* Paramount: Non-responsive

Staff recommends retaining the services of M&M Lawn Care LLC, the lowest bidder, for the routine maintenance of the bus shelters for one (1) year with option to renew for two (2) additional years if satisfied with their services.
