APPROVING A TEMPORARY USE AGREEMENT WITH THE MARGATE - COCONUT CREEK FIRE RESCUE TO HOLD A “SAFETYFEST” ON APRIL 27, 2019.

BACKGROUND:
The Margate - Coconut Creek Fire Rescue is requesting authorization to use the MCRA owned property located at 1000 N. State Road 7, at no cost, to hold a “Safetyfest” event on April 27, 2019. The purpose of this event is to provide activities, safety information and education to the public. The event will operate from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and it is expected that between 5,000 and 7,000 individuals will attend.
Additionally, the Margate - Coconut Creek Fire Rescue is requesting the MCRA to cover the cost of Police Detail for the event, which shall not exceed $1,600.
It is important to mention that the Margate City Commission approved the use of the City’s mobile stage and waived the related fees for this event via City Resolution No. 18-126 on October 3, 2018.
RECOMMENDATION: To Approve
FISCAL IMPACT: Waiver of fees ($3,000) for use of the property.
MCRA to pay $1,600 for the Police detail for the event.
