RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MARGATE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE MARGATE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR SPECIAL DUTY DETAIL AT MCRA SPONSORED EVENTS
BACKGROUND: This is an extension of the Special Duty Detail agreement that was approved in 2018 (copy attached). The agreement provides for special duty detail services at MCRA sponsored events including, but not limited to, the Sounds at Sundown, July 4th, and Winter Festival events.
The rates remain at the current levels and are as follows:
-Law enforcement services provided by any police officer (minimum 3 hours): $45/hour
-Supervisor Rates (details with four or more officers): $52/hour
-Holiday/high demand rates (13 specified dates): $65/hour; Supervisor: $75/hour
-Special Circumstances rates: $65/hour
High demand dates include: Valentine’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, First and Last day of Broward County Schools.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval
FISCAL IMPACT: Special Duty Detail charges are budgeted for under the various event budget line items.
