Title
AMENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA, CHAPTER 9 - BUILDINGS, ARTICLE III.-FEES, SECTION 9-21. - SCHEDULE OF PERMIT FEES; PROVIDING FOR FEES FOR CITY FUNDED PROJECTS.
BACKGROUND: The current ordinance language does not cover all City projects. It only takes into consideration projects funded by the General Fund or Enterprise Fund. The General Capital Projects Fund and the General Obligation Bonds Proceeds 2019 Capital Projects Fund were not included in this ordinance. After the original addition of this language and the implementation, it was discovered that the workflow was inefficient and did not produce the desired results. Rather than the building official accounting for certain permit fees annually, all contractor permit fees will be remitted by contractor and accounted for at time of permit issuance to provide for consistency of all issued building permits. This will not change the amount of fees collected.
RECOMMENDATION: For approval.
