RESOLUTION - AWARDING BID NO. 2019-009 ASPHALT REJUVENATION TO PAVEMENT TECHNOLOGY INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $0.95 PER SQUARE YARD FOR APPLICATIONS OF RECLAMITE ASPHALT REJUVENATION AGENT OR $1.49 PER SQUARE YARD FOR A.R.A.-1 TI POLLUTION-REDUCING POLYMERIZED REJUVENATING SEAL, PROVIDING FOR A JOINT COOPERATIVE BID FOR THE CITIES OF MARGATE, MIAMI-GARDENS AND PLANTATION WITH THE CITY OF MARGATE ACTING AS LEAD AGENCY.

BACKGROUND:
The City of Margate Purchasing Division issued a solicitation for a jointly cooperative bid with the City of Miami Gardens and the City of Plantation for Bid No. 2019-009 Asphalt Rejuvenation. Each agency provided their estimated annual usage information which was incorporated into the special conditions of the bid specification packet. The bid was then advertised and distributed to twelve parties who expressed an interest. One bid response was received from the firm of Pavement Technology, Inc.
The bid was reviewed by the staff and the recommendation is to award to Pavement Technology, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $0.95 per square yard for Reclamite or $1.49 per square yard for the offered alternate A.R.A.-1 TI. Participating Cities shall have the option of choosing the product to be utilized for each specific application. The estimated quantities and budget amounts are subject to the availability of funding in each fiscal year. Historically, the City of Margate has expended approximately $150,000 to $200,000 per fiscal year.
