CONSIDERATION OF A TEMPORARY USE PERMIT (TUP), TO ALLOW A SEASONAL SALES EVENT ON COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1423 NORTH STATE ROAD 7, FROM FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22-FRIDAY, DECEMBER 27, 2019.
BACKGROUND: The Kiwanis Club of Margate/Coconut Creek is seeking permission to permit a seasonal sales event for the sale of Christmas trees located at 1423 North State Road 7. Event dates will range from Friday, November 22 to Friday, December 27, 2019, including three days of event set-up and clearing days after the event. Applicant is seeking permission to operate the festival until 11 P.M. and, a total of 35 consecutive calendar days; Per Section 3.24, code requires events to close by 10 P.M. unless approved by City Commission for a later time and limits seasonal sales to 30 consecutive calendar days. Staff recommends approval with the following conditions
1. Provide an executed agreement with adjacent property owner to utilize the property for vehicle access during the event; and
2. That the event sign is limited to 24 square feet; and
3. That the applicant obtains a building permit including any temporary lighting, inspections to be completed the Thursday prior to the event.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff comments are attached to this item.
FISCAL IMPACT: The applicant fee was waived for this event because the Kiwanis Club of Margate/Coconut Creek is a non-profit organization.
