Title
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MARGATE, FLORIDA, AMENDING APPENDIX-A ZONING, ARTICLE III - GENERAL PROVISIONS, SECTION 3.10 - ABANDONED VEHICLES; PROVIDING FOR DEFINITIONS; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND: During the November 20, 2019, City Commission meeting, there was consensus for staff to bring forward an ordinance to correct language in section 3.10 of the Margate Code of Ordinances. In the modified ordinance, it is clear a vehicle must maintain a valid registration as evidenced by an affixed current automobile license tag.
The Planning & Zoning Board recommended approval of this ordinance at the December 3, 2019 meeting, including adding a provision which would allow one operable vehicle without current registration to be parked at each single family residence.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends adopting the ordinance on 1st reading.
