BACKGROUND:

A local Margate resident, Vincenzo J. Ruffino is working on a project to earn his eagle scout badge. Mr. Ruffino has met with the City Manager’s Office, and with the Parks and Recreation Department with a proposed project of donating a bronze statue in the shape of a German Shepard Dog. The statue would be donated by the resident and installed at the future Margate dog park located at Firefighters Park.

The Parks and Recreation Department has met with the potential Eagle Scout project team, and has discussed in full detail the necessary requirements for the installation of the art, and the Parks and Recreation Department has confidence that the art being donated will be satisfactory in quality and similar to other public art statues within the City, which are currently low maintenance.

The Parks and Recreation Department will assist the Eagle Scout project with resources as allowed by the requirements of the project, and provide fund raising opportunities at City events and City facilities accordingly.
