APPROVING A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE MELLGREN PLANNING GROUP, INC., FOR REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) 2018-022A - COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT CONSULTING SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BACKGROUND:                     The contract with the Mellgren Planning Group (RFP 2018-022A) for the preparation of the Future Land Use Element of the City’s comprehensive plan will expire June 2, 2020. The proposed second amendment to this contract will extend the expiration date out to January 27, 2021 as well as revise the scope of services to be provided with NO CHANGE TO CONTRACTED COMPENSATION.  This amendment will repurpose funds dedicated to certain tasks in order for the contractor to successfully process the comprehensive plan amendment through all regulatory agencies.

 

CONTRACTOR has provided an aggressive schedule in order to complete the amendment process, including, but not limited to, the following projected dates and tasks:

 

                     June 4th - City Commission Workshop

                     August 4th - Planning & Zoning Meeting

                     August 19th - City Commission Transmittal Hearing

                     November 4th - City Commission Adoption Hearing

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:                     Staff recommends approval.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:                     No change in the compensation
